Adopt A Family! Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Adopt A Family!

Even though you aren't my family yet,
I love you like you were my own.
So if you’ll let me adopt you,
That sure would complete our home.

I hope you know that I love you too,
In good times as well as the bad.
When things aren't going well for you,
Don't you know that I also am sad?

I hope that you’ll look to me dear child
In some ways just like I’m your Dad.
If you could learn to trust and turn to me,
You'd make my poor heart very glad!

Not under my skin, but In my heart you grow,
There is something else, I would like you to know.
I won't walk away, and I always will stay.
Say yes as I welcome you home today!

My children will be your siblings.
The inheritance you all shall share.
Any blessings that come as a result of that
Is because you now belong somewhere!
