i adopted
a cat, brown and thin,
hungry but calm
in its eyes lies
a desire for domestication,
and each time
after my breakfast i feed
it fish.
the dogs in the house
all the while
jealous and angry
wanted to kill it.
the brown feline knows
her ways, how to survive
alone and
adore its new master
winding its way on
roof tops
and house beams
away from
those angry and
jealous dogs.
