I wonder how the New Year tends to be!
It will bring its uncertainties along;
It will spring surprises both good and bad;
But will it be better than the Old Year?
Pessimism afills my mind and heart;
My growing age and experience have taught;
I'm mellowed down and take things as they come;
Why have tall aims and dreams that can't come true?
A New Year comes despite all hype or gloom;
To make the future bright lies in our hands;
You cannot destroy brethren in God's name;
Righteousness will prevail despite all vice.
But the New Year will come and the Old will go;
A lot of good can still be done by men;
Yet, praying fervently will change our fate;
Many issues need Providence to solve.
Divisive forces must be rooted out;
Terrorists must be wiped out without trace;
Religion should not be a whip to rule;
Let love fill hearts and mend the frontiers torn!
Let man not waste earth's wealth on futile wars;
Let pride and jealousy not enter homes;
Let leaders fear God, align with Nature;
Let dignity of life, living be prime.
Let sanity prevail in people's minds;
Let all secure the earth for progeny;
Let scientists work with zeal and care for life;
Let love resound in air, soil, overseas!
