The codes of the narrative
keep me awake.
Vigilant the soul
fails to soften
upon your rounded shoulders,
radiates
a dazzling white into the universe
maps out the shadows of the trees,
the language of birds,
words keep it company.
This year winter will bring snow along
to the heart of the city.
If you ask the river,
it knows of our love in full detail.
It was autumn
when I met you first.
The next day there was a storm,
people locked themselves in.
