Afraid Poem by Edwina Reizer

I am afraid to look for you
for I'm afraid that I might find you.
And once again I'd be wrapped up
in everything you are and all that I do.
For without you I can get on with living
and never have to be forgiving
myself over and over again
until I'm finished, until the end.

For life with you was too hard to bear
so I will not search for you anywhere.
If I were to find you and see your eyes
it would be too hurting to realize
that you're not mine, I'm afraid.
