Afraid Of The World Poem by Alison Lovelock

Afraid Of The World

Feelings around me consume & surround me.
First time I felt this was worthless. So hopeless.
I know what's in store when I walk through that door.

Is this life worth living for? ....

I stare at my feet as I walk down this street.
The people. They stare. No care. So unfair.
I know they are smirking. Trust me it's working.
I can't stop yet. Behind they are lurking.

I can't keep pretending. For a life I am depending.
I can't take these emotions. Tell me. Where is the devotion?
I stand alone in the world as a fool. No love. A life that's bitter. so cruel.

People they point.
They smile whilst I frown.
They watch as I drown.
As I suffer they'll drag me down.
Deeper. Yes deeper to the ground.
Where it's peiceful. Safe and sound...
