Why are you afraid to love me?
Is it that you have been hurt
Or is it that you cannot break old ties
even though the last woman treated you like dirt
Cause she played games and told lies?

Why are you afraid to love me?

Is it that she played with your heart and mind
Now you believe true love is hard to find
Do you think I just want your money
Or is it cause I have my own, Honey?

Why are you afraid to love me?

Is it because you are quiet and shy
Or is it because your heart was broken
Is it cause I am not afraid to ask 'why? '
Or maybe it's cause I am too outspoken.

Why are you afraid to love me?

Is it that we were moving too fast
Do you think I'll let you down
Are you afraid this love won't last
And that I won't stick around?

Is THAT why you are afraid to love me?
Tell me, all I can do is ask.
