After Blenheim Poem by Sase vardhni

After Blenheim

Robert Southey wrote the poem After Blenheim
I was overwhelmed
For a short period of time
Later, I asked myself was the war necessary.

Robert Southey gave an introduction
Of Peterkin and Wilhelmine.
Still, there was something to undermine
Because the war was in abeyance.

Old Kaspar saw his grand Child
Playing with a soft shiny stone.
He wanted to know where was it found
As he is sure that, that was not a stone.

Old Kaspar was known
For the history of victory
Who neither wanted to drown
Nor to frown.

Yet little Wilhelmine,
Yet little Peterkin,
Had their valid query
On behalf of what defines war and victory.
