After Going Home Poem by Petra Creffield

After Going Home

Rating: 4.0

Diaspora of dreams
I wake in limited reality
Of Chatham cubbyhole of home
Is this it?
What dreams may come to be?
End here
Cotton-bud stuck too deep
again
New Year is here
Drink her in
In love and in sin
Sinking in
To expected role
Eternally it seems

Can’t see nothing wrong
Inside of me
But know you can
It is the wish that upholds
This version of you
That is beautiful.
