After Him

Poem by Stephanie Wood

sealed casket of selfish hate
buried alive in your filth
forgot the one who loved the most
struck another to lose yourself

laid waste to a future
strut your lack of taste
consider what was left behind

are you sick of yourself
can you look at your face
what excuse do you give
remember, ever remember

precious lies in deafened ears
drink away the reminders
can't rely on the numbers of screams
fake nails, tight jeans, lack of fate...

how does it feel

all the failure.
