Against The Silence /Of Nothing Done Poem by Shalom Freedman

Against The Silence /Of Nothing Done

Against the silence
Of nothing done
And nothing even tried
I write these lines
As if the very act of writing
Were its own justification and meaning
And to write and write
With or without readers
Were in itself good enough
To make a continually value-doubted life meaningful
For the time of the writing.
