Against The Despair Of My Own Darkness Poem by Shalom Freedman

Against The Despair Of My Own Darkness

Rating: 5.0

AGAINST THE DESPAIR OF MY OWN DARKNESS
Against the despair of my own darkness
The night becomes longer sleeplessness
And I fight the fear
With my own moving into the cold
Night is hard now
And will become harder perhaps
Old age is difficult
And will become more difficult
Courage is wonderful
And necessary
But can it really meet the fear the night the aging the decline
The loss of hope and the deep inner loneliness?
