Age And Time Poem by Gerry Legister

Age And Time

Time is reminiscent of the inattentive rime,
Which we find the equivalent prose of a two-line.
Imagery snarling all over contact dried-up ink
History shows the ubiquitous liquor we drunk.
Instrument of Intoxication for social media
An age, air of grievances, join the protest
There is criticism with traditional interest.
Censorious impulses instigate the riotous mob,
And it fuels the fossil feuds to make them mad.
Denounce or renounce for one reason or another,
get pulled along the street and bow to pressure.
The age stuck in time arguing about refines,
climate changes, and foggy clouds dull the senses.
That atmosphere alludes to fending off reason,
beseeching the persistence with distress season.
This age has a gutty argument, reminiscent of a time
In which free speech becomes a hateful villain.
Meandering to a honey-sweet land of freedom,
Where you may quit or take a chance with passion.
Charm and romance burn the coals of an audience.
People grumble and fumble, by their great worth
The values we brought into the world from birth.
Earth is now the magnified mediocrity and repellent
Pride itself on fiery exchanges of being unrepentant.
This age has spun and spurred an angry backlash.
Of displace voices, a firestorm in the appropriate niche
Fired up to survive, all the shrill and shaming,
This nation, on critical dismay, sees no embarrassing
Enough to make re-education a primary concern,
Other age may raise the hackles from lessons we learn,
Offering no apologies, leaving it for others to mount
Arguments in favour of or against truth or abatement.
