Aging Poem by Rebecca Bouchard

Aging

I can still recall the day Innocence abandoned me.
She left me stranded with no map and no instructions,
And as I struggled to take my first solitary steps,
Optimism and Trust kissed me goodbye.

Knowledge slowly joined me,
And with Him came Questions.
They advanced ahead of me
At a pace too swift to match.

Confusion followed,
Luring me into
Isolated corners, where Loneliness
Found me.
