Aging Towards Maturity... Poem by Daniel Paul

Aging Towards Maturity...

Rating: 4.0

Our childhood was fun and naively we prayed fighting games not knowing that strife would haunt us in adulthood....

See us emerge as teens, with blood shooting in our veins we studied every girl's gait...
Got our first kisses and tasted sour liquor; we were vibing...
We kicked parties, fun and joy; we pursued fun.. In that way we danced our way into adulthood.....

Academia tried to pin us, but the cash had to talk and roll, so proctors were slain..
Good shoes, rainbow wardrobes and sweet scent floating in our apartments...
Bed a bimbo, drink your way to mid night and sit for a test at dawn..... College was jolly....

Look at us now forging our way into the future, we got big dreams...
Strife comes in and bruises us but these wild hearts are ever on the prowl....
We drink, we drive and play golf on the weekends and our dames are not complaining.......

Fortune has smiled upon us...
Now our mothers eye us with pleasure, for we became men and are returning the benefits...
