Airplanes And Night Blooming Jasmine Poem by Robert Rorabeck

Airplanes And Night Blooming Jasmine

Rating: 0.5

Child, you are lost and you don’t
Wish for me to find youâ€"climbing up through the
Strange spinsters of the nightâ€"
Looking for apples in the arboreal bosomâ€"
The stars chickenpox but dancing
Beautifullyâ€"your memories on a bus to school,
The alligators in the canal,
And your parents in bed together while the moonlight
Is dancing in the pool like a toy seaâ€"
I left fireworks in a bag underneath the night blooming
Jasmine
That you will never findâ€"
And you know, there are so many airplanes climbing
In the sky and leaping forever across the sea.
