Albinism Is Beautiful Poem by Raynolds Moseamedi

Albinism Is Beautiful

Rating: 5.0

I was born like this.
Never meant to change
I only ask for a kiss
Not the full extent of man's rage
They fear what they do not know,
And hate what they can't conquer
And so they seek to destroy
The lonely nights and days a child a lost session
Just a simple emptiness of pigmentation
Not my fault, they said it was a genetic mutation
Not a sign for some ritual liberation.
I feel cursed,
and the thought of death
is always nigh
I read in the news, another one dead
A child this time found under the bed,
Am I the common enemy
Now both black and white despises my skin
The feel of eyes turning away, your own mother and your kin
Flee, like a dog unwanted
Your whole body is a rare plantation planted
So rare that you'll have to die to be kept.
.
mmmh... then I'm a crop past spring
Awaiting deracination
Black white yellow and brown
A sad doll placing an insidious frown
The stench of despair
To and fro the cry of fairness
The cold words felt inadequate
So you brought up the religion
to justify your killing
So kill away
To the last of the stray
The exceptions in milky skins
Pink eyes and white hair
fluster your actions with but a blur
Forget the chemo
It won't save the albino.
Gaze one more time at yourselves
' the only thing left to do'
Is to realise that 'they' are human too.

Albinos are human and the stigmatization is evil. We must show them love like other people. Score you a ten here for your courage. Please kindly check my poems HOPE and THE BEAUTY OF DEATH. Kingsley Egbukole
