Alexandrian Sonnet 25 Poem by Alexandrian Ink

Alexandrian Sonnet 25

Rating: 5.0

That Eve (woman) was created out of Adam
And that every man is by a woman born,
Show that no one is an island, both in them
Both each to each in nuptial made one.
That our greatest enemy is the self, self-love
Through this self, the devil and the world tempt us;
Then those killed by women, one will prove
That they killed themselves; their selves, their weakness.
Then let Samson, Solomon and Troy
Blame themselves and do not lay a hand
Upon any matter or malice behind the destroy
Of their name, fame, themselves and their land.
I call that person valiant, mighty, great and greater
That overcomes his weakness: women, money, et cetera.
