Alien Attraction Poem by Dereck Gibbs

Alien Attraction

Rating: 5.0

A magnetic pull
Like the positive to my negative
An irresistible attraction
Like moth to a flame

Caught by this seduction
Praying not to fall
But stumbling always
Like a foolish drunk

I get so high on you
Floating on cloud nine
I drift, I float, captivated by who?
None other than my princess, my boo

The yang to my ying
She brings joy to my soul,
Like picture to the blind
Sound to the deaf

I feel like a, love virgin
This foreign sensation
Like, aliens here to abduct me
Testing my, emotive capacity

Traction beam pulling
Casting away hesitation
I throw myself in willingly
Desperate to escape this planet lonely

Very catchy title and wonderful imagery. Last clinching line uplifts the poem to a new meaning of alien attraction. Keep up, Dereck! Best Wishes Naseer
