Alive Poem by Muna Moons Ahmed

Rating: 4.0

Today, today is only today
I have a song in my heart
A song without lyrics
A scent I cant colour

There is a wave of motion
A high tide rising
There is a shout yet to be muted
There are handcuffs slapped on a wrist
But the fingers still hold a pen

But I can barely hold this pen
I am in tears
Covered in fears
This song can't be sung
I can't sing

Help me
Sing along to a silent dirge
Hanging clouds suspended in air
Turn.
Run.
Come back and return
Return my smile

The minute hand moves too fast
And the silly hour hand follows suit
The clock stares back from a wall
But I see you in slow motion
Moving way too slow

No I am not sober
Am high on life
Strung high on living
I don't have to act sane
You can be my madness
No I can't be sober
Am living
Am living love.

I like what you see
I like what you be
Who you be
I like that you be my bee
Filling my hive with honey
Call you honey

But why cant I?
I want to be your hive honey
Come thrive in me
Hide in me
Away from solitude
Away from it all
We fall
Fall so deep
Oceanic

Can I play my part?
Can I 'at' that?
Beat that then eat that?
Can I eat you?
Can I munch you physically?
Nibble you emotionally?
Can I have you?

Lay you want to
Lay you I ought to
Good night I bed you
Were here I wish you
Have you I have to
I've tried too hard
Too hard to let you go
Now I let you in instead

Thrive coz of you
You will, I will to survive
I live,
Life
I am alive
Taken from your cue
Ques of bee songs
Melody.
Oh so melodious
Chants of lively hearts
My art
Your heart
Our part.
Soon to part.

Way, child's play
Child within a morning glory
Mornings calling us to play
Nights of passionate stories
Wolverines even stray
Stray towards you,
and lay…

Alive.
