Alive And Not Well Poem by Dan Frank

Alive And Not Well

Alive and Not Well
I gave you all of me
You gave it to charity
Stripped naked before you
Being searched with a spotlight
Any defects glaring like the sun
I wanted to cry but I held back
My tears drown me
Trying to grasp lifesavers of cardboard
Floating weightless in the sky
Clouds slip by me
Lightning chars my skin
Falling like a snowflake
Landing on the ground
Hanging out my window by a bedsheet
My feet almost brushing the ground
Awaken.
