All Angels Take Care Of Their Own Poem by Cathleen Hodgkinson

All Angels Take Care Of Their Own

Rating: 5.0

(In loving memory of Ricky M. McClure 1968-2009)

Souls that are wounded in a whirlwind of despair.
For a Brother of yours has fallen, gone in an instant,
Too much to comprehend...for he was just here.
You've shared smiles, a drink, some laughter...he was just here.
Take heed, for all Angels take care of their own.

Years of friendship, solid as family not bound by blood.
You've ridden the moonlit highways together.
Breathed the same summer night wind upon your faces.
At this moment, heavy hearts share the same grief and sadness.
Take heed, for all Angels take care of their own.

Bittersweet to turn back the pages of time.
Perhaps afraid to forget his voice, forget all that he was.
You once always knew where to find him.
Because he, because you, were always there, always cared.
Take heed, for all Angels take care of their own.

In his honor, together a family, you'll lead him where he'll rest.
And as you walk away, within your hearts, you'll take a piece of him to hold.
And he will always ride with you in divine happiness.
Because he knows, as he feels the sultry summer wind upon his soul,
That all Angels take care of their own.

*I did not know Ricky, but I knew the 'family' that he had within his friends who graciously tended to his earthy departure...friends from all walks of life with whom he shared the roads and open winds with on their Harley Davidson bikes. This compelled me to write these words in awe and admiration of this 'family's' dedication to one another. God bless them all.

Such an eloquent tribute penned about a stranger, yet it seems you knew him well!
