All Covet, All Lose Poem by Marvin Reeds

All Covet, All Lose

Remember that jargon I used to write
It was overrated but I meant it
I was messed up at that moment but I thought is was right
Paranoia and superstition flooded my psyche
Like I was some junkie, I got caught up on Karl Siegen's theory
How naïve was I?
Charging forward my troops mercilessly like Caesar
Throwing a penny in your heart's casino
And having the nerve to hope that your love will kamikaze onto my lap.
Desperate to show you the other side after this nagging attribute.
My taste buds became blind and my voice deaf
That is why the concentration wasn't dilute.
Scares to your new boyfriend and roses to your next heartbreak
Never wail about love when it came screaming at your door step.
All I wanted was to make you smile and hold your hand for a mile
But I lost that too.
