All Destined For The Pyre Poem by Sheena Blackhall

All Destined For The Pyre

The tiger's eyes afire
The moonlit haunting owl
All destined for the pyre

The speeches that inspire
The prayers beneath the cowl
All destined for the pyre

The goods that we acquire
The people fair and foul
All destined for the pyre

The riches we desire
The wolf of eerie howl
All destined for the pyre

The cattle in the byre
The prowling fox's growl
All destined for the pyre

The singer and his lyre
The child's tender vowel
Hawk, in a shrinking gyre
All destined for the pyre
All destined for the pyre
