All He Has Is Himself Poem by Eillio Imbasciati

All He Has Is Himself

He has presence, that's why he's here,
Someone who's come a long way
But is that only calculated in miles, not spiritual growth?
Gifts which are emotionally benign,
Although they provide some meaning
Concerned about going stale,
Since he was left out much too long
So at least he doesn't want it to appear as if he has ulterior motives,
As all he has is himself to show for conditions,
Showing up, growing up,
Taking frequent histrionics in stride,
Hoping that not all pursuits add up to disaster
Stabilizing, standing erect,
Trying to make a difference by being there,
Rising every day to rise to the occasion,
Which comes in handy for every occasion
