All Light! — No Darkness Poem by Mohammad Younus

All Light! — No Darkness

All light! — no darkness,
No dreadful silence of the night!
Sun raising its bright head!
Moon and stars, all gone!
Dawn of ecstasy!
Resurrection of the dead world—
New life starting!
Total Awakening! —
Birds coming out of their nests!
To sing sweet songs of love!
Humans coming out of prison houses!
Enlightened! Enjoying the manifestation!

Heart too light and calm!
Throbs in rhythm!
Too peaceful! Too calm and tranquil!
No longer anxious thoughts!
No longer dreads and fears!
No strife! No tension! No desire!
No pain! No anguish! No tears!

Barking dogs!
Howling wolves and jackals!
Hooting owls!
Patrolling, Night curfew— All vanished!
Nightmares - forever gone!
No fear! no terror! No oppression!
Love, beauty, youth, —all returned!
The high, heroic vow, the buoyant hope,
The fond desire, all rekindled now!

God my guide, God my friend,
God my teacher, God gracious and merciful,
Once seemed to be not happy with me;
But now my faith is renewed in my loving God;
Unfaith lies buried!
This enlightened, aware soul is my treasure,
And still one conscious wish, I have:
Not to cease to be conscious!
Good God! Good Morning!
