All Or Nothing Poem by Butch Decatoria

All Or Nothing

Corinthian Guidelines echoes
that Love is not perfect or boastful...
nor keeps score of wrongs...

My imperfect heart aches
to make better our days
in the throng long
still winter cold
your eyes so blue of icy songs
lately unseeing my feelings, untold stories
obsessive on our bodies sprung
hungry for hearths & spring...
and my cell-phone to ring.

Common sense tells me we are
as good as it gets
to the last drop
the best of the best
never the worst - of times,
surprise us
parties of more than five
not needed in playful fields of lucid dreams
unrealistically
no one fits you better than me
a glove? perfect?
maybe, but surely - snug...
And yes I boast, Yes vainly so
of treasures—your chest,
my deadman's head to rest
insanely show currents like magic
trending tastefully - by two deciding
how to fill a home fully
with photographs our history our
family, frames on walls and mantle displayed
How warm a hearth & fireplace;
furnished bliss - this is,
Here's where we stay
Living lively tied and gladly
in view of the bay
setting Sundays, all the days and nightly
Safe in the moments
We shape with love
Like clay...
Until we are but
A page in the album of time
Prodigals
All pass away…

Although paradise is not without rain,
we remember the betters we feign
To be
without regret - somber days
Or not to be
Forgot
Let's create art from the stains
Yesterday and hence hereafter.
Love is All or Nothing. All rainy days & sunny Laughter….
