All That I Hold Onto Poem by Marc Robinson

All That I Hold Onto

I carry with me all that I hold onto.
All that I wish wasn’t with me,
I continue to carry it all.
And moan about its weight.
All the worries of past, future and present
I hold onto tight,
So that others cant see.
As they don’t have to worry about it.
It's mine.
I hold onto all that burdens me,
And as time continues on,
I amass more things to hold on to.
I carry with me all that holds me back.
I keep with me things that I don’t wish t keep.
But I know I have the ability to let go
and stop carrying all that I feel I should.
I can stop carrying all that others expect me to,
And I can stop carrying all that stops me from going forward.
So when I move on in time,
And future people see me,
What they don’t see,
And don’t have to get to know,
Is all that I hold onto,
As I will be holding onto it no more.
