All These Years Poem by Karen Diane Fisher

All These Years

All these years,
All our years seem to be brimmed of tears,
Tears of bliss
Tears of resentment,
Tears of desolation,
Tears of confusion,
Tears of exasperation

All these years,
I never let you know,
You are the reason I am to embrace on and cultivate,
You are the one who made me hanker to endeavor on

All these years,
Everything you did made me, who I am today,
Marrying a man who knew nothing,
But, how to love me the way he never had to,
You are the one who made that happen mom,
For that I thank you

For all these years without you,
I would not be where I am
A High School Graduate

You gave me the opportunity,
The chance to prosper
Indoctrinating me antecedently to anyone else,
Because you knew what was of adequacy
