All Things Great And Small Poem by Kevin Goddard

All Things Great And Small

She carries bags heavier than her,
Knows much, much more maths than I do,
Has more friends than me
Talks, almost as much as I do,
But with more circumspection;
Eats cheesy pasta, without messing,
Rides a bike too big for her,
Flings herself fearlessly
At whole oceans –
They bob her in their hands.

Beside her I am small
And my smallness
Is greater than I
Could ever wish
To be.
