All We Can Ask Poem by Esme Varley

All We Can Ask

Who could have foreseen this
maybe I could
yet some things are not meant to be changed
we are cannot hold blame
If I only could have laundered the pain

What should we have done
if anything
for the choice was with you
though I wish it was not
for our selfish heart long for you

Where do you now reside
in bliss beyond
may you bathe in the ecstasy of relief
enveloped by love
as that is if all we can hope, all we can ask
