All Writers Are Haunted - Poem by Nic Custer

All writers are haunted
by the ghosts of poems past.
With that cold blast
of moments and memories
running up your spine,
running down the pen.
All those fiends of ink
and realizations upon
(or is it under) the sheets.
Ghastly times reincarnated as
the untouched apparitions shrink
and the full-fledged living grows.
I’ve confused too many
3s for Ohms, and
love four a reason.
Spent too many days
on cleaning
this haunted house
of my mind,
bringing the spirits
to the light
to be able to meet
tomorrow’s page
with a heavenly outlook.

I really really like this. It's a nice way to explain a writer's love for writing. (Report) Reply
