Allegiance Poem by Rosalinda Flores Martinez

Allegiance

An allegiance like a warrior to his King
has been offered.
Pillows and a bed of white, bloom with hearts.
They cannot separate.
Night and day sire sacred mounds
lighting paths and corners.
In the cold, arms and body, wrap eternal -
sustaining fright and sorrow,
diligent and warm. Love unfolds -
in the field and in the world -
You and I -
unbroken.
