If life was an enchanting fair
I would be a clown there
the world would then laugh with me
I’d be a happy prankster running scot free
You could watch the amusing act
pacify people when offended with your tact.
But the world is just a plain jane
houses building offices and lanes
you are pretending to be cool
playing by adult made rules
If life was a grand enactment of a play
I would like to direct it of course, Hey!
making people fall in love and sing
cutting out all the tragic things
You could be the theater critic
commenting on how love makes it tick
But the world is like mathematics
logical to some to other magic
you stand on the rational side
I lost in its immense tide
If life was a big buffet
I would be the waitress there
serving the spectacular dish array
decorated with mystery a mystical tray
You could be chef de cuisine
we would make a merry team.
But the world is just a round ball
you never end-up giving me a call
I am just a girl waiting in line out there
you the prince charming of many here
Hoping we would cross paths someday
talk over coffee and you’d decide to stay
