Almost There Poem by Nadia Daniel

Almost There

Black raven Blue sky
White clouds Wonder why

Watch (watch)
Stars glisten
Sit (sit)
Need to listen
Moon tearing shreds of a cloud
Listen (listen)
Call is too loud loud Loud

White skin Black hair
Red lips Don't care

A thread, silver
Twisting, quivers
Streaming, river
Silent and loud
Hidden and proud

Green stalk Black thorn
Yellow petal Already sworn

Remember
The dismembering
Of limbs and life
Blood red hot thick
Sweet blue cold thin
Lips upon a waxy face
Do you Remember?

Red brick Black door
Orange curtains Want more

Running
Feet moving
Like-
Like-
Wind on face
A race
Against-
Against-

Dark horizon Grey sea
Bright fish Only me

No no no
Ow
Yes
Why?
When?
No no Yes!
Where they the best
no
It was too Bright (bright)
I Lost The Fight
Fight fight fight

Shadows shadows
Flickering on the edge
Edge White edge
Dancing, Pilfering
Thoughts and memories
Do You Remember?
Black comes from white
Not right, black night
Don't fight, The Right
Send the Blight
Blight! Blight!

Cream pages Cracked leather
Purple cover Not Ever

Lolling sinking staying floating waiting
Trapped held forgotten restrained lost
Forgetting blurring muting losing
Reaching letting go going going

Green blade Silver drop
Brown earth Can't stop
