Alone Poem by Danielle Floyd

Alone

Rating: 5.0

You yelled at me,
You cussed me out
Then hugged me and whispered “I Love You”
I could not respond…

You were playing with my head
Relying on my emotions
Relying on my love

But I didn’t care that you so easily used me
That didn’t matter, all that mattered
Were those three little words…

“I Love You”

Whether they were true or not
Was being debated in my mind
But I wanted so bad to believe you…

I held on tighter,
Gasping as you pulled me away,
And led me to the door
I didn’t understand
I didn’t want to…
But I walked out the door and walked home…
Alone
