Cheng Zheng Poems

Cast your hook into unknown oceans
Unwittingly, as an emanating aura
I'm seeing truth in ineffable notions
As concrete as steel upon my shifting mind
...

Written a few months ago after my religious pearl harbour so to speak dealing with existential confusion (though it may not look like it)

...

Drumbeats upon the tired soul
Every word falls like a rusty hammer
Falling
Falling
...

As light fades across blood red skies
Echoes of shadows caress the slumbering land
Where long forgotten blood once flowed
The battle that shocked the gods
...

A deserted street, a once bustling road,
the sun shines bright to burn
from our minds all fear and despair.
In this game of noughts and crosses,
...

A single note strikes
the shattered silence
like a thousand spikes,
stabbing with cold indifference.
...

Or more like 'As the Rhyme Withers in my Verse', but anyhow...

***************
...

Just some random jumbled thoughts I wrote down at a time of depression

*******************
...

If words grew on trees
and ants flew like bees
and rainbows appeared where forever was feared
the dragon whose beard like with fire was seared

Dreams Of Flickering Thoughts

Cast your hook into unknown oceans
Unwittingly, as an emanating aura
I'm seeing truth in ineffable notions
As concrete as steel upon my shifting mind
Might as well make me blind

Torn between hope and despair
Caught as a fish in your illusory hook
Unsure whether I should care
As lust and love fight like demons in my head
With a pious thought of holy dread

Ancient rites of shadows play
As tribes of madmen dance and laugh
The fiery night hopes to persuade
That something, anything might be done
Before the oasis turns into a desert dune

A flood destroys my fragile dream
As the bus arrives at the station again
All the madmen roar and scream
Nothing to lose, nothing to gain
I might as well get up and scram
