Alone In My Corner Poem by Jessica Golden

Alone In My Corner

Don't bother me now,
Alone in this corner,
Don't bother me now,
Though I long for a partner.

Don't bother me now,
Afraid to face the wide open,
Don't bother me now,
I'm safest here in my heaven.

My thoughts keep me company,
For I'm not so alone,
But a presence of a sweet, kind folk,
Would be great to be known.

Don't bother me now,
Though I wish that you would.
But the walls surround me,
Like a cabin of wood.

Very vulnerable,
In a way that it could,
Burst into flames,
Welcoming anyone it should.

For no one is welcome,
In my lonely corner.
When I long for some accompaniment,
My fear overcomes.

I've been hurt once before,
And no longer am I,
Vulnerable for the evil,
That remains in your lie.
