Alone In The Rain Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Alone In The Rain

The sky wept, a gray, cold sheet.
I stood on the street, my tired feet.
You said you'd come, a promise light,
But the dark fell, and you weren't in sight.

Was it a joke, a game you played?
My hopeful heart, now so afraid.
Did you find someone else, a brighter sun?
Or just forget me when the day was done?

This wetness chills me to the bone,
Leaving me here, all alone.
The puddles mirror my lonely face,
Lost in this empty, rainy space.
