Always In My Heart Poem by .... Chetty

Always In My Heart

Oh red roses kiss my lips
And stain my heart
Sheared the petals from red to dust
Oh happy soul linger around me like butterflies
My heart falls like snowflakes, gently on your lips
You and I made our own history

I was 5 years old when I first saw you
I still remember it like it was yesterday
Oh you who followed me everywhere
Oh you who told me I was the most beautiful girl in class
Oh you who run into my arms every time you saw me

Oh you who stole my kiss
I was not even 7 years old
Your eyes sparkled every time I walked in the room

You who stole my heart since I was 5 years old
Oh you who wanted to marry me; I was not even yet a woman
I was so young and you where the butterflies in my stomach

Oh you who showered me with candies
Oh you who wiped my tears when I got jealous
Oh you who made me his princess
I was not even 9 years old

We dance under the coconut tree
We swam like wild turtles in the sea
Life was so beautiful; I was so young and innocent

You who engraved on the school table that you loved me
You are the first I loved and are the one who made me the happiest

I remember everything like it was yesterday
The roses you gave me as you stole my kiss
Oh you who always protected me

Oh you who stared at me like I was the most beautiful girl in the world
Oh you who I run after and cried for every time school was over

I was not yet 12 years old
I cried for weeks that I will never see you again
20 years pass and I still remember your face like it was yesterday
Today after 20 years you have come to my door
Holding me in your arms, I feel like a child again

I have never forgotten my beautiful childhood memories
I never forgotten my first kiss, you stole from me
I never forgotten the love so innocent and pure I had for you

I can't believe I am seeing you in front of me.
You are always in my heart as I am in your heart
No matter how long and wherever you are you will always be my first love, my best friend, my most beautiful memories.
