Always Keep Bandaids Poem by Brad Milner

Always Keep Bandaids

My daughter
Sometimes the storms will rage.
The rain will pour like nothing you've ever seen.
And you're gonna fall hard.
And its gonna hurt, really bad.
And your dress and shoes will be muddy and scrapes will be everywhere.
The pain will hold you down if you only give it a nod.
But take out your box of band Aids and put them on.
Use the whole box if you want.
And then baby you cry, you let it out.
Don't worry if others stare or laugh.
Just go on. You just stand back up and raise your head high, never looking down or behind.
Only looking ahead and then you run baby, run and catch the wind and let it take you, never looking down.
And baby you fly to the clouds and to corners of the sky.
And you will notice as your feet lift off the ground, the pain is gone, replaced by a view from above.
