Dad Poem by Brad Milner

Dad

Dad I really feel lost without you.
I think of you all the time and find myself rudderless

You were always my rock.
I thought nothing could bring you down.

But here we are.
and you are gone

The days seem a little longer now
The daily calls you always answered.

Now there is only silence
In its place

Always there
Always there

I hope god realizes what a special one he has
And gives you your wings right away

And I am always on the lookout for the smell of old spice
For I know it is you and you are here

And someday we will meet again.
A celebration indeed.

Until that day
I will wait
