Am I A Rapist Poem by Hasan Maruf

Am I A Rapist

Rating: 5.0

She called me
She came to me
She told me she was ready
It was time to take our relationship to the next level

"Are you sure? "
I asked
Repeatedly so
Because the last time we spoke
She was caught up in a place between us
Making love and her keeping her purity
And she chose the road of abstinence

I respected her
I Waited for her
I loved her
Not even once did I ever ask her to act against her own will

But she came to me
She recited love poetry to my ears
Sent goosebumps down my veins
Entangled butterflies in my stomach
She turned me on!

She unbuttoned my shirt
Loosened my belt
Threw away my shoes
And unzipped my pants

I acted
Instantly we connected
I rested
For I was never mistreated
Just trusted
I guess I never knew I was being tested

I held her
Undressed her
Entered her
ohhh... she screamed
Damn she screamed
Not out of pleasure but out of pain
Not out of passion but out of torment
She tossed me aside and told me
"All this was just a mistake"
She had never really understood what was at stake
I guess my only mistake was that I then asked her to leave

I was angry
Not at her, of course no!
but at myself
For in my drought she presented me with water
Yet she never really allowed me to quench my thirst

She cried
Bitterness filled her heart
She walked out
Today she came back
Policeman escorting her
She pointed me out
And called me her rapist!
