Amazing Friend Poem by Cunningham Mbati

Amazing Friend

Tens and tens and ones of years,
Moans and cries and tears of months,
Loneliness and worries and crosses of days,
Embarrasses and irritations and jades of hours,
You were always wonderful and dependable.

Tens and tens and ones of years,
Smiles and laughs and cheerfulness of months,
Likings and happiness and thrilleds of days,
Sweetness and lustings and prides of hours,
Revealed an amazing friend to me.

My words are empty,
And flowers are not aplenty,
If two decades is twenty,
Four years would be many,
But because I always had you,
They are just but two.

When there was no meal,
You always made a will,
When people rejected us,
You always became a plus,
When there was no one to call amazing friend,
You always made us to amend.

These are my bitter twisted lines,
But heals faster than sorrowful cries,
You are the best woman in the world,
You are the best mother in the world,
Happy mothers day mum,
You are my amazing friend, ma'am.
