Amber Resin Poem by Sara Militello

Amber Resin

Amber Resin

Paper and pen the amber resin
when poets weave a tapestry of recall
in a poetic free-for-all.
Whether in mere frivolity to say
what's on the mind or on the way;
that gladdens the heart or saddens it too!
A poet will say it through and through
savoring words as a tasty stew
caressing and regressing them too
in velvety tones wooing and cooing
reversing, re-saying, undoing
perhaps to forestall
a cathartic caterwauling.
But poets do that too.
They feel deeply
about everything under the sun.
It's easy enough to see
how interesting life can be to a poet
vying to play on center court.
