Ambush Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Ambush

Rating: 5.0

Ambush

Dance the waves
On trampoline, tides, vessels
To mornings, evenings, limited
And fences with trance,
In breeze.

The best of architects, spiders
Tactical and self-armed, sufficient
Of bricks, concrete, are needless
Have them all, tools and means
Skin bags for water.

Invisible, camouflage
Invisible, camouflage
Come ambush warriors.
Invisible, camouflage
Invisible, camouflage

And I know
I know well; out of sight, are here
And I know they want me
My flesh
But whispered, hypnotized, I remain.

My wrists free
Ankles too
No cuffs, rope and no chain
But still
I am tied, I stay.

Passenger to train
To be gone; disappear…
What is there?
Do not know…

“Do not write;
She told me; do not kill memories
Keep in mind and brain
“Do not write.” Shahla Said, Lahiji.
But still: “Why banning? Why censor? ”
She’s fighting.
