An American Weeper Poem by Randy McClave

An American Weeper

For a cup of coffee I don't mind paying over 4 bucks
And I don't mind spending over 60,000 for my trucks,
I don't mind spending 6 dollars on a Big Mac meal
Or spending 5 dollars daily for a pack of cigarettes is a good deal.
I don't have a problem spending 20.00 for a case of beer
Or 10.00 for lottery tickets I play always with good cheer,
Paying those desires and needs I have not one fret or worry
I pay them regardlessly when or when I'm not in a hurry.
What bothers me the most of all the bills that I amass
It is when I pay over 4.00 dollars for a gallon of gas,
My truck just gets 16 miles on just one gallon of fuel
Now the world is making me and other Americans look like a fool.
I don't care if people are getting separated or murdered and are dying
I don't care if parents and children are suffering and crying,
Our country should do what it can to make our fuel prices cheap
Let's help Russian take over Ukraine and then those rewards we'll reap.
Ukraine belongs to Russia I heard that some time ago
Then I was told that the great state of Texas once belonged to Mexico,
I say let's give Ukraine to Russia to make our gas prices cheaper
Then from high gas prices, I won't be another American weeper.
