An Angel Poem by the Nickster

An Angel

There was a little old lady who lived up North (during the warm months)
She was my backgammon opponent for three consecutive years
Always spoke kind words regarding any conversation
but, life is filled with ups and downs
some happy endings mixed with frowns
She left this life one faithful day
to my surprise and dismay
They say what doesn't kill you, will make you strong
Although she's gone her memory lives on
Farewell my friend, I will miss you much

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I met this elderly woman online-a Backgammon site. She beat me every time for three years, and I was really trying to win. Lol! But, what I will cherish the most are the conversations we held in between all those matches. She was a beautiful woman who took time out of the last few years of her life to encourage & impart wisdom to me. I will never forget her. My angel, my Pearl.
