An Angel From Paradise.... Poem by Prabhakar Srivastava

An Angel From Paradise....

Just reached here few days ago
Shuddering with fear and pain
With fierce visions of land below
Of being mangled by wolves insane

Many sisters here wiped my tears
With bewildered and watery eyes
And tried too washing out my fears
But failed fully to check my cries

Feeling free from flowing warm water
Those sisterly hands now pamper me
How sweet and innocent! They murmur
How can one do but with a bud too tiny?

I know not even a bit they talk about
I marely urge to see my dear parents
They deny saying "thou can't sprout"
For devils dwell disguising as saints

O Dear Dear father! I love thee a lot
Since knew of thy girls' saving efforts
I know, thou surely a revolution brought
O father! Thou know not but how it hurts

When wolves with bloody teeth surround
And seize thy daughter and mangle her
With devils' laughter and ferocious sound
I call thee, O father! But can only whisper

As they deny me to send on earth again
I beseech thee to make our holy land safe
So that I may wander freely in sun or rain
Can't thou for me, eradicate a word 'rape'

This paradise isn't better than that one
For my mamma and father aren't here
That's why I made a poet's pen thus run
And make my mind's thoughts thus share

Let me come again, Let me play again
I just want to pluck some shining stars
To serve the nation with heart and brain
To soar in the space and kick the mars
