An Angels Peace Poem by Trevor McLeod

An Angels Peace

Die Angel shed thy blood tonight
bath my hands in crimson life
let my hold you in my arms
as your arms grow weak
stare into my eyes
as the life laves yours
see the darkness consuming my soul
as I watch the darkness claim yours
the pain is temporary
only momentary
soon it will end
and you will find peace
sweet blissful peace
as I lay your body down
with the utmost care
not even disturbing the air
only a wilting rose
left in your cooling fingers
tells who was here
a frozen heart that you thawed
a heart you set ablaze with words of love
the wilting flower
strangled by your lies and pride
the wilting dying rose
my only testament
to the love I have for you
dear sweet angel
